To make a wildlife pond you will need to follow these tips- 1. Make sure it is free of goldfish and koi 2. Clean it out by hand not by cemicals 3.If you already have frogs and newts in your ponds DON'T take them out or introduce any(OK to introduce frogspawn from a safe area) 4. If Duckweed (not algea) starts growing in the pond leave it 5.In winter in order for it not to freeze over solid leave a tennis ball on top of the water and then remove it the next day so there is a hole for animals to breath.
